A football player’s journey to the Pro Football Hall of Fame often begins with his first step onto a Pop Warner or high school field. “High school and youth football are the foundations of our game,” NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said during the 2001 Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremonies. The San Diego Youth Football Fund believes that by continuing to take a leadership role in the growth and development of youth sports in our region, we also are growing young leaders. It is expected that the Fund will benefit high school and Pop Warner football players and others involved in Youth Football.

Thank You SDYFF!

My name is Steven Drye and in 2013 your organization awarded me a scholarship in the amount of $2,500. I ran across this old picture below and knew I needed to drop you an email and thank you. That $2500 has gone a long way. In two short months I will be graduating from California State University, Fullerton with a Major in Business Finance and a Minor in Military Science. I will also be commissioning into the US Army as a Second Lieutenant. However, my greatest achievement is the attainment of a life long dream. In July, I will be starting a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Keep up the good work and be assured that the help you provide really does create opportunity and drive student success. Thank you, and thanks to all of your members and benefactors. I am here today because people like you invested in someone like me.

Very Respectfully,

Steven Drye
